We start the trip on arrival at Kathmandu with airport pick up service. Since no activities are planned on day one, you can arrive at your own time. A briefing of the trip will be given by the tour/trek guide.
We begin the sightseeing tour by our visit to Boudhanath Stupa; a place of worship for the Buddhist, the shrine is one of great importance to the Buddhist religion. Here we shall visit monasteries and watch the monks in prayer. We will continue and make our way to Pashupatinath temple, considered one of the holiest sites dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple holds great importance as a place of worship to the Hindus. It forms a major part of the people on a day to day basis. Here you can watch devotes offering prayers and watch the activities that are undertaken in the temple premises. The afternoon is free for shopping and leisure.
After breakfast, we drive five hours along Trishuli River to the low land of Nepal . Upon arrival in the resort, lunch is served and afternoon is at leisure. In the evening join the unique cultural dance of the local residence.
Full day Jungle activities at Chitwan National Park like elephant ride, canoeing, village visit, elephant breeding center visit.
Bird watching program is organized early in the morning. After breakfast we start our long drive to Kakarvitta which takes around 10 hours. Upon arrival in the border we transfer you to the hotel where you will be meeting your Sikkim representative and guide.
Along the way to Darjeeling, we pass through several tea states. Darjeeling coined from the word Dorje a stone, thunderbolt of Indra and Ling a place hence a place of thunderbolt. After an easy1 hrs hot drive from the plains the steady uphill drive begins to touch the 'Queen of the hills ' beauty crowned by the Himalayas. Darjeeling hill grows the world's best tea.
Early morning drive to Tiger hill (2590 mts) for the breathtaking sunrise over eastern Himalayas Mt Kanchenjunga and Mt Everest. Visit oldest Yigacholing Monastery built in 1857 belonging to the Gelukpa sect which has the beautiful statue of Maitera (the future Buddha). Afternoon sightseeing begins with Himalayan Mountaineering Institute which trains mountaineers built in 1850. Drive to Tibetan refugee self help centre which houses hand woven carpets and wood carvings and visit to the Happy Valley tea states. In the afternoon fun ride in the famous Toy train, this has received a place in the world heritage site lately.
Drive through tea estates and various vegetation to Gangtok , the capital of Sikkim.
Morning excursion to Phodong Monastery. Afternoon local sightseeing – visit Cottage industry, Enchey Monastery, Institute of Tibetlogy and the local bazaar. We will also tour the permanent 'Flower Show' that exhibits a number of native Sikkim's orchid and flower species. Later afternoon is free and we recommend a visit to the busy vegetable and spice market. Overnight Hotel.
Drive to Phuntsoling -the Bhutanese boarder town. Today you stay in Phuntsoling a commercial and industrial center as well as overland gateway to Bhutan . This is the best place to buy the famous stamps of Bhutan.
The drive from Phintsoling to Thimpu is a scenic drive. The modern capital of Bhutan lies at an elevation of 2300m in a valley traversed by the Wang chu (river). Tashichho dzong the main Secretariat building that houses the throne room of His Majesty and a summer residence of the central monk body. Although not what one expects from a capital city, Thimphu is fitting and lively place. Home to civil servants, expatriates and monk body, Thimphu maintains a strong national character in its architectural style.
Places of Interests in Thimpu are Memorial chorten, Tashichho Dzong, Changangkha Temple, Simtokha Dzong, Indigenous Hospital, National Library, Painting School, and Vegetable Market. We take you to most of these places for sightseeing.
The drive from Thimpu to Paro is around 2 hours. Once arrival in Hotel, lunch is served and begins the sightseeing of Paro City. This beautiful valley, if ever a place exists, here nature and man consulted to create their dearest image, it must be the valley of Paro. Mt. Chomolhari 7320m reigns in white glory at the northern end of the valley and its glacial waters plunge through deep gorges to form the Pa chu (Paro river). Paro is one of the most fertile valleys in the kingdom producing a bulk of famous red rice from its terraced field home to some of Bhutan's oldest temples & monasteries. Places of Interest: Drugyal Dzong, Rinpung Dzong and Farm houses.
The flight over the Himalayas reveals breathtaking views of highest peaks of the world including Mt. Everest. Druk Air, national carrier of Bhutan flies to Kathmandu, Delhi and Bangkok.
