Nepal Tibet Bhutan Tour

Day by day Itinerary
Day 01 - Arrival in Kathmandu.

Arrival in Kathmandu at Tribhuwan International Airport. Our representative will receive and transfer to the Hotel. Afternoon is leisure time. Evening: briefing about the tour at Hotel.

Day 02 - Full day sightseeing in Kathmandu City.

Pashupati Nath Temple: Pashupatinath, the temple of Lord Shiva, with two tiered golden roof and silver door is considered one of the holiest shrines for Hindus. Although only Hindus are allowed inside the temple, visitors can clearly see the temple and the activities performed in the temple premises from the eastern bank of the Bagmati River.

Bouddhanath: The Stupa of Bouddhanath lies 8 km east of Kathmandu. This ancient colossal Stupa is one of the biggest in the world, and the center of Tibetan Buddhism in the world.

Swyambhunath: This is one of the world’s most glorious Buddhist Stupa and is said to be 2,000 years old. Painted on the four sides of the spire's base are the all seeing eyes of Lord Buddha. Swayambunath is situated in a hillock about 77m above the level of the Kathmandu Valley and hence commands an excellent view of the Valley.

Kathmandu Durbar Square: It is the historic seat of royalty. The Durbar Square, with its old temples and palaces, epitomizes the religious and cultural life of the people. Interesting things to see here are: Taleju Temple, Temple of Kal Bhairav, Nine storied old Palace and the Temple of Kumari (Living Goddess). After Kathmandu Durbar Square sightseeing tour guide will bring you to the hotel visiting the old town in Kathmandu where local do the shopping for their everyday needs.

Day 03 - Sightseeing tour in Patan, Bhaktapur and Nagarkot.

Patan City: After breakfast you will visit the ancient city of Patan, lying 5km southeast of Kathmandu is known as the city of fine arts. The city is full of Hindu temples and Buddhist monuments.

Bhaktapur: This town still retains a medieval charm and visitors to this ancient town are treated to myriad wonders of cultural and artistic achievements. Bhaktapur is famous for woodcarving, pottery and handicrafts.

Nagarkot: Nagarkot is a popular tourist destination of Nepal. It is situated 32km east of Kathmandu at an altitude of 2,175m above sea level. The panorama of the major mountain peaks of the eastern Nepal Himalaya including Mount Everest can be seen from here. We visit Nagarkot Tower to see sun set view and drive back to Kathmandu.

Day 04 - Fly to Lhasa.

Arrival at Gonggor airport in Lhasa (3500m). Our Tibetan guide will receive you and transfer to the Lhasa city on private vehicle takes about 1/2 hours driving (90km).After arrive in Lhasa Hotel, rest and acclimatize.

Day 05/06 - Sightseeing tour in Lhasa city.

Two full days guided sightseeing program in Lhasa city on private coach. Places to visit are: Potala Palace, Jorkhang Temple, Bharkhor market, Norbulingka, Sera and Drepung Monasteries and many more old and famous places. Overnight at Hotel in Lhasa.

Day 07 - Drive to Yamdrok-tso Lake- Shigatse(3900m) 350km.

The day begins with our overland journey towards Everest Base Camp and Nepal. We cross Kamba La (4795m) and Karo La (5045) via beautiful Yamdrok-tso Lake. Yamdrok-tso(4450m), one of Tibet's three holy lakes, is located 110km outside of Lhasa. In the fresh morning air, you're on the way to this lake. After 2-3 hours further drive to Shigatse city. Shigastse is second largest city of Tibet where you get a good opportunity for both relaxation and exploration. Just close Tashilhunpo Monastery is the Old Town of Shigatse, a great place to wander around: Nicely decorated Tibetan houses and interesting market and bazaar give you a vivid picture of local people's life. Overnight in Shigatse.

Day 08 - Drive to Xegar (New Tingri) 4050m, 244km.

After breakfast we start our journey to Xegar which is about 6/7 hours driving. This day we cross the highest pass Gyatmso La (5220m). While travelling the plains we will see many nomadic herders, quite countryside and old monasteries. This place also known as New Tingri. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 09 - Drive to Rongbuk (5100m) 65km.

This day we turn off the Friendship Highway and head south over the Pang La (5150m) towards the main Himalayan range. After the pass we enter in to the Rongbuk valley. We can see magnificent view of Mt Everest from here. Overnight at Guest House.

Day 10 - Hike to Everest Base Camp (5180m) and drive to Kerong border(3050m) 370km.

This is the main highlight journey today as you have the opportunity to explore Everest Base Camp. The views of Mt Everest are so close making the mountain seem even more spectacular than before. You will see full length panoramic view of North Face of Mt Everest (8848m). After that our journey back to Old Tingri takes about 4/5 hours then further drive to Kerong takes about 5/6 hours . We cross two spectacular Pekutso lake with stunning view of Shishapangma to reach Kerong. Overnight at Guest House.

Day 11 - Drive to Kathmandu (1350m)250km.

After breakfast, clearance immigration formalities in Chinese immigration at Kerong border also at Nepalese immigration continue drive to Kathmandu takes about 7-8 hours. Transfer to the Hotel.

Day 12 - Rafting and Jungle Safari trip.

Early Morning:Drive to Charaudi (Rafting starting point) and about 3-4 hours Rafting program in Trisuli River. Professional river guide and Rafting equipment will be provided.
After Lunch: Drive to Chitwan National Park about 3 hours.
In the evening:Cultural program. Transfer to the Resort.

Day 13 - Full day jungle safari program.

Early morning:Jungle excursion on an elephant. Wild animals, birds and if you are lucky, tiger can be seen.
Afternoon: Canoeing and visit Elephant Breeding Center with Village walk. Transfer to the resort.

Day 14 - Drive to Pokhara.

Drive to Pokhara on takes about 3-4 hours. Transfer to the Hotel. Pokhara is a resort of remarkable beauty. The serenity of Fewa Lake and the magnificent view of Mt. Machhapurhhre( Fishtail) rising behind create an ambiance of peace and magic. The valley surrounding Pokhara is home to thick forests, gushing rivers, clear lakes and the world famous views of the Himalaya. Transfer to the Hotel.

Day 15 - Full day Pokhara city sightseeing.

Early morning: Drive to Sarangkot. Walk for an hour to reach the Sarangkot Tower. Excellent view of Annapurna mountain range is seen from here. Drive back to the hotel. After breakfast: Visit the following places for sightseeing :( a.) Devi's Falls (b.) Gupteswor Cave (c.) Tibetan Refugee Settlement (d.) Seti Gorge (e.) Boating at Fewa Lake. Transfer back to the Hotel.

Day 16 - Drive to Kathmandu.

Drive back to Kathmandu takes about 6-7 hours and transfer to the hotel. Afternoon is free for preparing Bhutan Tour.

Day 17 - Fly to Paro (Bhutan).

On arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be received and escorted to the hotel by our representative. During the flight, one will experience breathtaking views of Mount Everest, Kanchenjunga and other famous Himalayan peaks, including the sacred Mount Chomolhari and Jitchu Drake in Bhutan.

Day 18 - Paro sightseeing and drive to Thimphu.

Morning: Drive to Drugyal Dzong (a ruined fortress - 16 km away from Paro town). The dzong, although in ruins, holds great historical significance. It was from this fortress that the Bhutanese repelled many Tibetan invasions. The name means the victorious Bhutanese. This spot offers a magnificent vista of Mount Chomolhari, "Mountain of Goddess" (Alt. 7329 meters). Visit a typical Bhutanese farm house on the way back.

Afternoon: Visit the National Museum (Ta-Dzong). Once the watch tower for the Rinpung Dzong, it was converted into the National Museum in 1968. The museum stands on a promontory overlooking the Paro valley in all its glory. Visit the Paro Rinpung Dzong. A flagstone path rises gradually from a beautiful wooden bridge with shingle roofing and abutted by two guard houses, to the dzong. Today, the Dzong is the seat of the district administration as well as the home for the monastic school. The central tower (Utse) of the Dzong, with its superb woodwork, is one of the most beautiful in the nation. The Dzong was built in 1645 A.D.

Evening: Tea at the hotel and drive for two hours (65 km) to reach the capital city of Thimphu. Overnight at hotel in Thimphu.

Day 19 - Thimpu Sighseeing and drive to Wangdiphodrang via Punakha.

Morning: Visit the Memorial Chorten, a huge stupa built in memory of the third King who reigned from 1952~1972. Visit the National Library where ancient manuscripts are preserved. Visit Semtokha Dzong. This is the oldest fortress in Bhutan, built in 1629 A.D.by Shabdrung Ngawang Narngyal. It also houses the largest monastic schools in the country. Visit Tashichho Dzong - the main secretariat building. It is from here that the King and other prominent civil servants run the country.

Afternoon: drive to Wangdipdarang via Punakha. On the way, rest at Dochula for a hot cup of tea or coffee and on a clear day, can see the most spectacular view of the Eastern Himalyan ranges. visit the Punakha Dzong the former winter capital and present administrative scat of the district. It is also the winter residence of the central monastic body. Visit Wangdiphodrang Dzong, perched on a promontory 13 km away from Punakha.
Evening: transfer to the Hotel in Wangdi.

Day 20 - Drive to Paro via Thimpu.

Morning: Drive to Thimpu which is 70 km takes about 3 hours. After lunch in Thimpu, drive back to Paro takes 2 hours. Evening: Transfer to the hotel.

Day 21 - Fly back to Kathmandu.

Transfer to Airport for departure to Kathmandu. Our representative will receive you and transfer to the Hotel.

Day 22 - Free day in Kathmandu.

Free day. Evening: Nepalese Cultural Dinner program.

Day 23 - Final Departure.
