Upper Dolpo Trekking from Juphal to Jomsom

Upper Dolpo region located in the central west of the country, the focal point of the area is the Shey Phoksundo National Park. The remote and rugged protected area is both scenically and culturally attractive. The Dolpo region is the natural embodiment of high passes, rare flora and fauna, and sheeping vistas, which is enriched by the traditional Tibetan cultural heritage. Upper Dolpo surrounded by Dhaulagiri and Tibet from south and north. Upper Dolpo opened 1991 for trekking. This region lies on the north side of Himalayas, it is also rain shadow area and the climatic situation of this place is same as Mustang.

Trekking season for Upper Dolpo region is generally from June to September. Upper Dolpo region, you start from Nepalgunj fly to Jhuphal(Dunai) and trekking up to Shey –Gompa then trekking through Saldang –La pass reach to Jomsom via Tingjagaon. The upper Dolpo is restricted area as well where you need to have any special permits to go. Not so many tourists have been in this area.

Upper Dolpo region is physically hard because of the high passes. This trekking is really remote and adventurous than others

Day 01 - Arrival in Kathmandu.
Day 02 - Full day sightseeing tour in Kathmandu valley.
Day 03 - Fly to Nepalgunj.
Day 04 - Fly to Juphal and trek to Dunai.
Day 05 - Trek to Hankhe.
Day 06 - Trek to Regi.
Day 07 - Trek to Phoksundo Lake(3660m).
Day 08 - Rest day.
Day 09 - Trek to Mandala Camp.
Day 10 - Crossing Kang-La (5500m) pass & trek to Shey Gompa.
Day 11 - Cross Saldang La pass (5010m) trek to Saldang.
Day 12 - Trek to Yangjeer Gompa.
Day 13 - Trek to Musigaon.
Day 14 - Cross Lnag-La (5002m) & trek to Shimengaon
Day 15 - Trek to Tinjagaon.
Day 16 - Trek to Khengkhola.
Day 17 - Cross Charka pass (5036m) & trek to Charka
Day 18 - Cross Sangda pass (5490m) & trek to Sangda.
Day 19 - Trek to Yak Kharka (4780m) 5 hrs. O/N at Camp
Day 20 - Trek to Sangda Village.
Day 21 - Trek to Jomsom.
Day 22 - Fly to Pokhara.
Day 23 - Drive to Kathmandu.
Day 24 - Rest day in Kathmandu.
Day 25 - Final Departure.
